Front load washing machines are generally more energy efficient and use less water. Front loaders are typically gentler on clothes during the wash and spin cycles making them a popular choice. They tend to sit lower to the ground where some bending of the back is necessary. However this is easily overcome with a raising box where the top load washing machine is mounted on top of the box making it more accessible. Top loaders come with various features including autodose (where the machines auto adds washing liquid), temperature control and spin speeds. All top loaders come with a manufacturers warranty with an optional backup plan to extend protection.
Top load washing machines are an old favourite and generally more affordable. Modern top loaders are durable with some larger wash capacities up to 14kg. Top loaders can be stopped during a cycle to add more clothes and often don't require too much bending of the back to load and unload. All Top load washing machines come with a manufacturers warranty with an optional backup plan for added protection.
Twin tub washing machines have two washing tubs. One for the wash cycle and the other to spin dry. Some twin tubs allow you wash two loads at the same time, therefore, you can use one tub for whites and another for colours. Unlike modern automatic washing machines, twin tub washers need to be filled with water manually and then drained manually. Its an important consideration to factor in. They are reasonably energy efficient with some of the latest models brandishing a 4 star efficiency rating and 2 year warranty while some of them have good water ratings as well.
